Our acupuncture team are all regulated healthcare professionals with extensive training and experience, offering a rich range of approaches including Traditional Chinese Acupuncture, Five Element, Medical Acupuncture, and Shonishin (a needle-free technique often used with children). Many also combine acupuncture with complementary therapies such as Tuina (traditional Chinese massage), Chinese herbal medicine, cupping, and moxibustion.
Between them, our practitioners have extensive specialist training and experience:
- Women’s health, fertility, pregnancy and childbirth
- Digestive health
- Pain and injuries
- Headaches, migraines, and sinus or ear conditions
- Skin conditions, allergies and asthma
- Addictions
- Ongoing support for long-term health conditions
Whether you’re seeking relief from pain, support through fertility or pregnancy, or simply a more holistic approach to your wellbeing, we’re here to help.
How does acupuncture work?
At its heart, acupuncture works with Qi – the life force that flows through the body along pathways called meridians. When Qi flows smoothly, we tend to feel well; when it becomes blocked or stagnant, whether through stress, diet or lifestyle, that’s often when symptoms start to show up. These can be as varied as migraines, back pain, PMT, skin issues, or a general sense of low mood and depleted energy.
By gently releasing these blockages and rebalancing the body’s energy, acupuncture helps everyday processes – breathing, digestion, circulation, hormones, sleep – work as they should. As these systems settle, symptoms often ease, and people typically notice an improvement in mood and overall wellbeing too.
Treatment uses very fine, gentle needles, and for most people it’s a surprisingly comfortable, even relaxing experience, which is part of why it works so well for sensitive patients. Some of our practitioners also offer needle-free acupuncture, a great option for babies, children, or anyone with a fear of needles.
