Yoga for Cancer at the Tree of Life Centre
A gentle, supportive yoga class for people living with and beyond cancer.
Yoga for Cancer offers a welcoming, supportive space for anyone touched by cancer, from diagnosis through treatment and recovery, and carers are warmly welcomed too. Each class blends gentle flowing sequences with restorative postures and soothing breathwork. This gentle approach helps to ease some of the common side effects of treatment, build strength, flexibility and balance, and bring a sense of calm and wellbeing. Every class is adapted to suit different physical needs and abilities. Together, the group becomes a caring community that supports one another through the healing process of yoga.
Classes run every Friday from 2:45–3:45pm at Tree of Life Centre in Hove, led by Eva Sacchi. No yoga experience is needed. The only requirement is being able to get up and down from the floor unaided. Mats, bolsters, cushions and blankets are provided, or you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer. £12.50 per class, or £56 for 5 weeks.
What is Yoga for Cancer?
Yoga for Cancer is a gentle, caring style of yoga shaped around the ways cancer and its treatment can affect your body and your life. It adapts for tiredness, changes in strength and mobility, emotional wellbeing, recovery from surgery and anything else you may be living with. Soft, flowing movement, supported postures, soothing breathwork and deep relaxation give you a chance to reconnect with your body with kindness, rather than pushing it. Many people find it a real source of comfort, strength and calm alongside their medical care.
